The Stay At Home Mōhalu

Happy Mōhalu everyone-

Our world has changed so much within the last 30 moon phases. I want to start off this post with gratitude. I am so grateful for my health, for my family, and for the gift of music. During this time of sheltering in place, I’ve been doing Instagram Live Sessions almost everyday. It has allowed me to continue connecting with people. It's been so encouraging to see so many creatives willingly creating for the sole purpose of making others happy during such a difficult time. I've really enjoyed watching people like Mark Kanemura, Lina Robins Tamure, Deandre Brackensick, Evan Khay, Keilana Mokulehua, Shane Tsukayama, and Jodvn Paul on their livestreams.

This month I was asked to be on the webseries, "Mee Time with Kimee Balmilero". I had so much fun getting to chat with Kimee who has been such a wonderful supporter of my music.

I have also been using my time to learn new things: new songs, new instruments and I enrolled in an online course at Berklee College of Music to learn the fundamentals of Ableton Live. I am looking forward to seeing my progress at the end of all of this.

This month’s Mōhalu to Mōhalu playlist is made up of songs I’ve been doing home workouts to and song requests that people have asked me to learn. In an effort to support some of my friends during this time, this playlist also contains songs from musicians I know.

I'm hoping by the next Happy Mōhalu that things will have gotten better. Sending love

Izik
